Whip your WIP

I wrote a rough--and I do mean rough--first draft of a short story tonight. Spitting out 2,000 words of reasonably articulate early draft drivel wasn't easy, but I don't know of any other route to reach a halfway decent story down the road. There's really not any way to handle your work in progress but to do the work so the story actually progresses. If you don't at least do that, you've got an idea, not a WIP. Sleep well, everyone.
