Of hubris

I suppose the internet may have been made for porn, but the overconfident and un-self-aware enjoy the hell out of it too.

Explore the vastness of cyberspace and you will mostly find cats and pornography, to be sure, but you will also find an overabundance of self-absorption, self-importance, and stupidity of both general and specific varieties.

I have stared into that abyss.

To believe that a few words occasionally shared from my keyboard might traverse the abyss to reach your screen, to hope that upon flickering across your retina my words might make a difference, to dream that the pulses along your optic nerve might cause a moment of reflection or even a slight smile of recognition, that is hubris of the utmost degree.

My first post is dedicated to hubris.
