I've enjoyed brewing beer from malt extract, but it's time to step up my game. Today I'm going to try to brew a brown ale from the grains and hops I bought from my local homebrew shop. It's a bit daunting to look at a big pile of grain and contemplate turning it and a few other friendly ingredients into a (hopefully) delicious beer, but I figure lots of folks have figured this stuff out. If nothing else, I guess I'll wind up with a nice barley porridge.
